Carnival is the first all new studio album in five years for New Model Army. A massive return to form, the album is being hailed as their best since 1989s breakthrough release Thunder & Consolation (EMI). Singer Justin Sullivan and drummer Michael Dean wrote most of the album, with the drums being the driving force behind the direction of the song. Adding the roaring lines of bassist Nelson and a twin guitar attack from Dave Blomberg and Dean White, the whole album is alive with classic New Model Army passion and dynamics. Carnival is also the bands first full, simultaneous, release in North America since The Love Of Hopeless Causes for Epic in 1994.
