Why is this set 40% less coins yet costs the same as the 50-coin sets?

Hmmm. Great question. We actually asked the factory that same question but they told us our price was the same for all sets, which seems odd to us and a little unfair. We are trying to negotiate this in the future and have made it a little cheaper as an introductory offer but that won't last long. We are sad about this too!
