The famed blue-eyed soul outfit that took Southwest Philadelphia by storm beginning in the early 1970s, the Sons Of Robin Stone revolved around a core of exceptional vocalists Jimmy Phillips (lead and first tenor), Joe Dougherty (lead, first and second tenor), Jim "Flick" Farrow (baritone and second tenor), John "Patcheye" Palladino (baritone) and Franny Flynn (bass). Visually appealing as well as musically, their electrifying live shows at Atlantic City's famed Steel Pier are the stuff of legend. They paved the way for acts such as New Kids On The Block and other vocal groups, and their influence is still felt today. Lead vocalist Jimmy Phillips was recently summoned into the studio by the legendary Philly Soul producer Butch Ingram to record a brand-new EP featuring updated arrangements of three of the Sons Of Robin Stone's biggest hits: "Let's Do It Now," "Love Is Just Around The Corner," and "Got To Get You Back." As an added bonus, Jimmy delivers remarkable takes on the Temptations' "I Want A Love I Can See," and The Spinners classic "I'll Be Around" featuring guest vocalist Cherrill Rae of the popular 1970s Welsh-Canadian husband-and-wife disco - pop singing duo The Raes. The production is top notch with expert backing from The Ingram Brothers band, the first family of Philly Soul -with backing vocals by the band with added spice from Sharon Ingram and Nikita Harmon.
