Dude Cervantes first hit the international stage as a member of Howlin Rain from 2014- 2020. Now, he tours with own original group MRS. HENRY and the Robbie Robertson sanctioned tribute Chest Fever - The Official Revival of The Band. In All By Myself, Cervantes emerges for the first time as a solo recording artist. Fittingly named, the album fuses the genres of blues, alt-country, and desolated folk, highlighting Cervantes strengths as a storyteller and performer. Throughout the record he utilizes fingerstyle techniques on the acoustic and electric guitar, passionate vocals and harmonica, and heavy experimentation of the Roland Space Echo.The 10 track LoFi album positions Dude Cervantes as an avant-garde aficionado of music, driving creative force, and now an individual artist in his own right. The bookend songs "Hurtin'" are a great example: Side A opens with a boisterous shock reminiscent of 90s era Tom Waits meets the heavy psychedelic dirge of early Black Sabbath, and Side B closes on a polarized take embracing The Man In Black ethos with a fixin' to die sound.Inspired by Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska (also self-recorded on a Tascam/Teac tape machine), Cervantes' lyrics tackle his pain of bygone relationships and loss in isolation. The tone is without spite nor regret, but with the love and gratitude that remains after heartbreak.
