Nine years since the last full length from The Velvet Teen and the band has written what could arguably be their best record yet. From it's gorgeous, swirling electronics to it's harder, angular, '90s-leaning flourishes of grunge, indie and emo, All Is Illusory is a welcome return for a band whose varied influences are still very much intact after its short silence. The album was mixed by Steve Choi of the RX Bandits and exemplifies the band's use of driving guitars, exceptionally technical drumming and lyrics by Judah Nagler that will make the listener question reality. All Is Illusory, the band's fourth album, is the long-awaited and elegant follow-up to 2006's Cum Laude.
