WARKINGS return from Valhalla with fanfares of the apocalypse! On their new studio album Armageddon, set for release on July 4, 2025 via Napalm Records, the five warriors have once again taken up their weapons to bring the legends of their past to life with mighty power metal anthems. Each of them carries the memories of great battles within, and now, the time has come to unleash these stories upon the world alongside the indomitable sorceress Morgana le Fay. Since their formation in 2018, WARKINGS have cemented their place in the power metal scene. They have conquered festival stages, played alongside legends like Powerwolf, Hammerfall, and Subway To Sally, and built a devoted fanbase that has chanted their anthems at Europe’s biggest stages, including Wacken Open Air. The band's fifth album, Armageddon, is a journey through some of history’s most pivotal conquests—moments where warriors stood firm, empires crumbled, and the world was forever changed. The title track, "Armageddon", tells the tale of the Viking raid on the Lindisfarne monastery in 793. The English coast was left defenseless against the invading hordes, who burned, plundered, and spared no one in their path. To the monks, it felt like the end of the world—a merciless punishment from God. This brutal moment in history is brought to life through a thunderous storm of sound that immerses listeners in the terror of the doomed monastery. "Genghis Khan" recounts the Mongol ruler’s unstoppable warriors, who conquered vast lands with astonishing speed and precision. They saw themselves not as mere invaders, but as great warriors, bound by loyalty and discipline, unwavering in their leader’s vision as they fearlessly charged into battle. To bring this saga to life, WARKINGS join forces with their allies Orden Ogan, whose combined energy transforms the song into an unstoppable anthem—sweeping across the land like the Mongol hordes, leaving nothing but devastation in its wake. But not all warriors were rewarded with glory. "Hangman’s Night" tells the tragic story of Friday, October 13, 1307, when King Philip IV of France ordered the arrest of the Knights Templar. Once mighty warriors of the Holy Land, they were now branded as heretics and traitors. Imprisoned and awaiting their execution, some clung to hope for rescue, while others prepared for their final battle—determined to never renounce their faith. With eerie melodies and driving rhythms, Dominum’s Dr. Dead and his undead army amplify the haunting atmosphere of the dungeons, capturing the despair and defiance of the doomed Templars. The album reaches its climactic conclusion with "Kings of Ragnarok", a song that depicts the ultimate battle of Norse mythology. Gods and monsters clash in a final, cataclysmic war before the world is consumed by chaos. Yet this song is more than a retelling of ancient myths—it unites the WARKINGS fan community, calling them to stand as warriors in the face of the apocalypse, ready for the final battle when the Midgard Serpent rises and the Fenris Wolf howls. With Armageddon, WARKINGS prove that history is not only written by rulers and conquerors—it is shaped by those who fought in their name. This album offers a glimpse into the experiences of those who stood at the brink of their own end—their personal Ragnarok, their own Armageddon. Honoring these fearless warriors, WARKINGS deliver yet another epic, destined to triumph in every battle!
