Sir Simon Rattle has long been a passionate advocate for British music, championing it's rich heritage and contemporary voices throughout his career. As music director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic, he brought English orchestral music to global prominence. This collection traces that journey-from the romanticism of Elgar and the pastoral beauty of Vaughan Williams to the modern brilliance of Thomas Adès-showcasing the emotional depth and evolving identity of English music through Rattle's vivid interpretations.
