Listening to Twist With Chubby Checker is similar to listening to a Chuck Berry record -- after a few minutes, you realize that the songs are just a series of variations on the same chord progressions with different lyrics. However, you also realize that the charisma of the performer is substantial enough to make such an enterprise interesting and, in fact, fun to listen to. Checker's bread and butter number, "The Twist" is likely to be the only song most listeners will recognize on the album, but that doesn't mean they won't enjoy hearing the rest of it.
