The clone heavy assault troopers, also known as clone heavy troopers and anti-air clone troopers were heavy weapons specialists in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. The clone heavy assault troopers were the heavy weapon specialist specialized in using mobile emplacement weapons. Clone heavy troopers often carried Merr-Sonn PLX-1 portable missile launchers, DC-15S, V-1 thermal detonators, HX2 antipersonnel mines and other ARC trooper equipment. The heavy troopers handled the anti-vehicle, anti-airborne, and anti-armor duties of the Grand Army of the Republic. The units were not as resilient as AT-TEs or LAATs but offered ground units some protection against vehicles and air attacks. A similar unit was the clone heavy gunner.
