Focusing on music that treads the fine line between electronic and classical, Physical Editions releases the works of Tristan Perich and Lesley Flanigan, two artists who explore the physical side of electronic sound. Tristan Perichs album 1-Bit Symphony, released as an actual electronic circuit that plays its music when switched on, includes its source code printed in the liner notes (and its execution is the content of his 695-page art book 0.01s). His Compositions, a series of four recordings of his scored works for acoustic instruments paired with 1-bit electronics, also include posters of the complete, miniaturized scores. Lesley Flanigans releases capture her work with speaker feedback and voice, inspired by the tangible elements of electronic sound. Her background in sculpture is evident in the palpable sound palette of her handmade instruments.
