The production, making it's premiere on London's West End, has been nominated for five Olivier awards including Best New Musical. Directed and choreographed by Olivier and Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Disney's Aladdin, Something Rotten!), Dreamgirls stars Amber Riley (Glee, The Wiz LIVE!) who is nominated for a Best Actress Olivier Award for her performance as Effie White. This brand new set was recorded live at the Savoy Theater and captures the on-stage exhilaration of the original London cast, the fourteen-piece orchestra and the audience. In 2006, Dreamgirls was adapted into an Oscar-winning film starring Beyoncé Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx.
