Melbourne Symphony Orchestra presents the second release in their Dvorák cycle with Chief Conductor Jaime Martín. Dvorák's Symphonies 2 & 8 follows the 2024 release of Symphonies 5 & 6, a critically praised recording noted for Martín's fresh perspective on Dvorák's lesser-known symphonic works. The MSO's Dvorák cycle will be the first by any Australian orchestra, honoring the rich musical traditions and nationalism embodied by the Czech composer's music. This cycle also pays tribute to the MSO's own home, with the artwork featuring picturesque landmarks from across the state of Victoria. This release shows the beloved Melbourne skyline bathed in a pink sunrise.
