Shirley Jones is one of the last surviving stars of classic Hollywood musicals. She was the only singer ever to be put under contract by Rodgers and Hammerstein and, within a year, was playing lead roles in Carousel and Oklahoma. This set covers her most important recordings from her records and musical films, many finding reissue for the first time since their original release. The set also includes songs previously only found on movie soundtracks released on CD for the first time. It also includes a recently rediscovered duet of If I Loved You with Frank Sinatra from the sessions for Carousel before he dropped out of the role. While Shirley would find renewed fame in the 1970's for her role in the Partridge Family, this collection brings together the most comprehensive collection of her early solo recordings ever assembled alongside duets with Gordon MacRae, Pat Boone, Jack Cassidy and Frank Sinatra.
