The idea with these are normal dice filler on the inside with a metal coating on the outside. 

Part of these reason these dice were discontinued is that it was tough to keep the quality consistent, which is especially true on the d6 and d4. Please be aware that these dice could potential have scratch like marks which came from the molding process.
