Opaque Ruby Vinyl. CG Cruz is a member of the band Cruz & Company composed of John Feess on lead guitar, Caleb Hessert on drums and Josh Hessert on bass. Located outside of Dallas, the acoustic group and full band play shows all around Texas and surrounding states.Their debut studio album, First Draft is a welcome celebration of new music into the Alt Country scene. Employing an eclectic blend of Texas Country, Rock, Blues, Funk and Americana music, First Draft is a colorful cross section of all sounds that interest the band and their love of a large variety of sound. "We wanted an album that followed a theme, but didn't follow a specific genre. Something that kept a listener engaged throughout the entire album. That's how we enjoy listening to music and that's how we play live shows." Singer-songwriter, CG Cruz, describes the album as a little something for everybody, because a little bit of everyone in the band helped put it together. "Every song we write starts with some kind of kernel of truth in the story. From there it's our job to build on it, and present it to everyone as something they can connect to as well."Recorded at the incredible Fellowship Hall Sound Studio, producer Jason Weinheimer helped build that desire into a reality. Constructing everything from large soundscapes of lush tones and swirling notes, to intimate stripped down country tunes, Jason helped the band feel right at home in the studio and deliver a strong debut album for the band to build upon.
