Don Mularz started recording his upcoming solo album Florida Street shortly after releasing Radio Hearts in'92. He entered the studio with members of Split Decision and recorded Mean Old World along with a few tracks that would later appear on Dark Horse Flyer albums, all captured on digital ADAT. During this time, Don also recorded acoustic versions of several songs. When funding for the Florida Street project ran out, some intended tracks of the solo album ended up on Breakaway and Hotel Paradise instead. After completing those albums, Don turned to a friend at Spectrum Recording, where he had previously worked on Radio Hearts. However, the old 2" tapes from Radio Hearts had deteriorated, and the ADAT recordings were riddled with dropouts, rendering them nearly unusable. Determined to salvage his work, Don had the 2" tapes baked, a process that allowed for a single playback to transfer the material to ProTools. While the Radio Hearts tracks were saved, the Florida Street recordings on ADAT were beyond recovery. Undeterred, Don resolved to restart Florida Street from scratch, despite two original songs were rerecorded and released on Dark Horse Flyer albums. This marked a fresh beginning for the project, fueled by his commitment to finally bring the album to life. The idea of Florida Street took 32 years to complete and will be released in early 2025, boasting ten tracks in all, and features special appearances by Bob Taylor (Split Decision, Dark Horse Flyer), Richard Taylor (Dark Horse Flyer), Beth Cohen (Barbra Streisand, Boston, Berry Gibb), Florida Street to be released in various popular formats including streaming
