Importantly, though, between the screeching harp and teeth-rattling tempos, there are great songs. - Uncut Production by Black keys frontman Dan Auerbach gives Brimstone Howl some requisite vintage-sounding reverb, but theres nothing reverent about these Nebraskans unholy hot-wiring of the Sonics, the Damned and the Blues Explosion. - Magnet Channels the ghosts of Jim Morrison and Rob Tyner with reverence and aplomb - Amplifier A foot-stomping, ass-shaking, roof-rattling, 30-minute sonic assault. - HearYa Part bluesy roots punk ala Gun Club, part Oblivians/Childish lo-fi raunch, part 60s British Invasion slop; Brimstone Howl is ALL rock'n'roll. - Lowcut
