Halo: Combat Evolved is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft. Halo: Combat Evolved is a science fiction action-adventure game set in the fictional universe of the Halo series. Players assume the role of a human soldier, the Arbiter, or a Covenant Elite, and battle against the Flood, a parasitic alien species that infests human and other species' bodies. The game's story follows the Arbiter's efforts to prevent the Flood from reaching the Halo installation and destroying all life in the galaxy.
