The Midnight are duo Tyler Lyle and Tim McEwan. They are releasing their 2020 EP Horror Show on ‘bloodshot splatter’ for the first time in stores as part of a limited worldwide run.
“Through the process of making the album art for MONSTERS and thinking about the ephemera in a teenager’s bedroom, we began to ask ourselves questions about the television. What was that shadowy figure coming out of the static screen?” The band says “This is our little homage to the eerie romance of the stumbled upon late night black and white horror film.” The Midnight continue to push the sonic and thematic boundaries of the synth-pop genre with impressive compositions encompassing synth-driven film scores, deep house, pop, rock and more.
Coming off a big 2021, the band sold out their entire upcoming fall tour including LA’s Wiltern in 3 days addition to festivals Outside Lands and Crssd among others. Their recent orchestral EP (July 23, 2021) debuted top 5 on Billboard’s Classical Crossover chart. The band also hosted a livestream that raised a considerable amount for charity, Plus 1, which was featured on the Twitch homepage. Recent syncs include music featured in Season 3 of Netflix series ‘13 Reasons Why’, advertisements for Sonos Speakers, and Apple ‘Memories’ feature on the photos app in IOS.
