Discover the unique and mesmerizing beauty of Hyalite Opal, also known as Kryptonite. This exotic mineral is unlike anything else you’ve ever seen before, with a glass-like bubbly texture and even its very own fluorescent display.
Formed over many years from silica and other elements such as aluminum, iron and even uranium – yes, that’s right uranium! – this special opal makes for an extraordinary inclusion to any mineral collection. But is hyalite opal dangerous? Good news: while uranium gives rare hyalite opals their green fluorescence, the stones aren’t actually dangerous. The amount and type of uranium in the stone is astronomically small, and fully contained within the crystal.
From its fascinating formation process to its unusual fluorescence properties, Hyalite Opal is guaranteed to captivate and mesmerize anyone lucky enough to behold it in person. Also known as Water Opal, Water Stone or Jalite & Muller's Glass it’s easy to understand why this so-called “Kryptonite” is a highly sought-after mineral among avid collectors. All Sales are Final.
