Few vocal groups have carried the flame of Jamaican harmony singing into the modern age with the grace and commitment of The Blackstones. Formed by Leon Leiffer in 1974, this UK-based trio - joined over the years by singers including Tony Mahoney, Junior Bailey, and most recently Amanda J Christos, has become a cornerstone of British reggae. Their roots stretch deep: from early chart-toppers like "We Nah Go Suffer" for Daddy Kool, to studio collaborations with reggae icons like Phil Pratt, Coxsone Dodd, and Lloyd Charmers. Drawing on the legacy of vocal greats like The Paragons and The Melodians, The Blackstones have consistently updated their sound without compromising their musical heritage. They've played theatres, toured with Curtis Mayfield, and even helped carry reggae's spirit onto the musical stage with Black Heroes in the Hall of Fame.
