Variants
- Captain Fitzwhiskers – Captain Fitzwhiskers is the esteemed captain of the Lioness, a grand ship that sails the treacherous waters of the Great Kitten Isles. A cat of great honor, to be sure! While off duty, he partakes in polite society, but rather reluctantly at times. At one particularly tiresome ball, a lady catches his eye—a splendid lady with eyes that glisten like gold. Might it be that our Captain found love to rival the devotion he holds for the sea?
- Lady Featherpaws – Lady Featherpaws is a shimmering star of the Regal Kitty Society. Her impeccable style and grace rival only that of the empress. Possessing a most agreeable character, the lady is invited to every gathering and ball. At one such ball, she meets a handsome captain. Captivated indeed, but with hesitation—the captain heads back to sea, naught but a fortnight hence!
- Lord Purrcival – Lord Purrcival, a most eligible bachelor of Clawbury. He enjoys the attention he receives from other felines, and yet he finds them wanting. During an evening stroll through the park, the lord spies an unfamiliar arrival. ‘Who is she?’ he wonders. To his dismay, she gives him nary a glance. With his pride wounded, he is compelled to pursue this matter further.
- Lady Sheddington – Lady Sheddington has traveled to Clawbury to visit her dearest aunt. By her side is her beloved pet mouse, Lord Squeak. While out walking her little companion, she unexpectedly crosses paths with a particularly persistent cat. How ungentlemanly it is to intrude upon her so!
- Mr. Clawford – Mr. Clawford has had a carefree childhood, filled with grand imaginary adventures alongside his closest friend Miss Meowsly. Yet now, in adulthood, he finds his feelings for his friend changing. More and more, he visits Miss Meowsly’s residence under the pretense of borrowing books. How long can he continue in this charade before declaring his feelings to her?
- Miss Meowsly – Miss Meowsly, a shy yet dreadfully clever feline, spends all her time in her father’s library. She finds great comfort in immersing herself in stories, especially while enjoying a warm cup of milk tea. Always near is her childhood friend, Mr. Clawford, a fellow enthusiast of literature. She cherishes their friendship dearly.
- Emperor Catticus III – Emperor Catticus III is the revered ruler of the Great Kitten Isles. Under his reign, the kingdom has found peace and prosperity. To the outside world, the Emperor seems nothing short of infallible; his love and generosity extend visibly to his subjects. But could the Emperor be hiding a secret? A mistress, perhaps, concealed from the prying eyes?
- Empress Caterina – Empress Caterina, consort to Emperor Catticus III, is no mere monarch. Those who are close to her know her as a meticulous planner and a master in the art of social decorum. Not a day goes by without an exuberant ball, political gathering, or grand hunt taking place within the palace grounds. With her careful involvement, the palace continues to run smoothly—despite the Emperor's well-kept secret.
