Tomas pulled his lute closer to his diminutive halfling body, making every effort to silence his melodic tool and remain concealed, as he watched the bugbear lumber violently over the aging bridge. Knowing this might be his only chance to escape the goblin hovel,  he reached silently into his pocket, his fingers searching for the familiar shape of his Slate dice, the slightly porous polyhedral dice coming to rest in his palm. Power began to course through his hand as the black and gray rocks gently jostled about his hand, the deep blue highlights of the runic numbers thrumming with energy. A sudden painfully intense, loud ringing noise, erupts from beneath the Bugbear's feet as Tomas' shatter spell triggers on the bridge. The bugbear's escaping gasp could barely be picked out of the combination of sounds as he plummeted hundreds of feet to the cavern floor below.
