Formed in the early 1970s, The Residents have now been charting a unique path through the musical landscape for over half a century now. From far-out, experimental recordings to highly conceptual, innovative multi-platform projects, the band refuses to stand still, and continues to move in several different directions at once. But you already knew that.
Combining new RDX mixes produced by The Residents using their original multitrack tapes under lockdown conditions during 2020, and a number of tapes placed by Hardy Fox in a part of the band's storage complex re-discovered in 2023, 'Leftovers' brings together the 'Leftovers Again?!' Record Store Day trilogy, alongside extra leftovers which The Residents couldn't fit onto those vinyl only releases.
Featuring alternate versions and lost tracks from The Residents' 'classic' 1970s period, the lost 'Man' album music, Mole Trilogy outtakes, alternate versions of 'God In 3 Persons' material and even evidence of a brief "jazz phase" 'Leftovers' is a treasure trove for fans of this remarkable, chameleonic band at their best pREServed for future generations - this is The Residents as we've always wanted to hear them.
