In the early 2000s, when the mainstream music scene was largely dominated by alternative and grunge, heavy metal was struggling to keep it's relevance alive. The scene, which had once been the voice of rebellion and vitality, seemed to fade into the background. But for fans of Christian metal, a beacon of hope flickered at Cornerstone Festival 2001. Hosted by HM Magazine, Deliverance's Live at Cornerstone Fest 2001: The Triumphant Return marked a defining moment. It was not just a concert - it was a statement of endurance and resilience. After years of inactivity, Deliverance returned to the stage in triumphant fashion, reaffirming their legacy and commitment to the heavy metal community. This performance became a key milestone in reminding us that metal was far from dead, offering a renewed sense of purpose for the genre in a challenging era.M8 Distribution, in collaboration with Magdalene Records and Millennium Eight Records, played a pivotal role in this resurgence by putting on the "80's Metal Retro Night with M8" at Cornerstone Festival 2001. This event was a celebration of classic heavy metal and ministry, featuring bands like Bride, Deliverance, Guardian, Recon, Sacred Warrior, Trytan, and Daniel Band. The night not only honored the music of the past but also highlighted the continuing influence of these bands' ministry in the face of adversity. It was a powerful reminder that heavy metal still had a voice and purpose, even during a time when mainstream music trends seemed to be leaving the genre behind.Remastered by Rob Colwell for enhanced audio quality, this reissue brings a fresh life to an iconic performance. The 12x12 full color insert features lyrics as sung live, along with reflections from vocalist Jimmy P. Brown from both 2001 and 2025, shedding light on how this event served as a powerful catalyst for the band's return and it's ongoing ministry through music. The new artwork, vastly improved by NLTM Graphics, brings the energy of that night to life visually, honoring the spirit of the original release while adding a modern touch for today's audience.Limited to 200 Double Maroon Vinyl in extra wide jacket, this reissue is an essential release for fans of classic heavy metal, especially those who appreciate the sounds of Queensryche, Metallica, and Anthrax. Deliverance's set includes timeless tracks like "Stay of Execution," "No Time," "Psalm 23," and "Victory", showcasing the band's unparalleled musicianship and their ability to inspire both musically and spiritually.Deliverance's return to the stage at Cornerstone 2001 was a pivotal moment that played a vital role in keeping the pulse of heavy metal alive during lean years. For old fans and new listeners alike, this release is more than just a concert - it's a testament to the enduring power of music and ministry. For fans of Queensryche, Metallica, Anthrax!
