Newly Remastered 2cd Release Anthology Of Camel Member Peter Bardens' Recorded Work Iussed Between 1969 And 1971. Prior to Bardens joining Andrew Latimer, Andy Ward and Doug Ferguson to form Camel, he had recorded a single in 1969 with his band Village (also featuring Bill Porter on drums and future Elvis Costello & The Attractions' member Bruce Thomas on bass) for the short-lived Head Records label. In 1970 Bardens signed to Transatlantic and recorded his debut solo album 'The Answer' featuring Bruce Thomas, guitarist Andy Gee and Reg Isadore on drums, plus an uncredited Peter Green guesting on guitar. The album included the long opus 'Homage To The God Of Light', later performed by Camel in their live sets. In 1971, Bardens recorded his second, eponymous solo album with a band featuring Reg Isadore, Vic Linton (guitar), Victor Brox (electric violin) and John Owen (bass). 'Peter Bardens' did much to enhance Bardens' reputation as a musician and composer. The music on both of Bardens' solo albums mapping the route that he would take as a member of Camel. This 2CD remastered anthology gathers together all the material recorded for Transatlantic Records (including the studio out-take 'Long Ago, Far Away' recorded during sessions for 'The Answer'), both sides of the rare single by Village originally issued in 1969 and both sides of a rare French single of 'Homage To The God Of Light'.
