John Prine – Lost Dogs + Mixed Blessings (2LP Vinyl)
Originally released in 1995, Lost Dogs + Mixed Blessings was the 12th studio album by legendary songwriter John Prine, marking his return with a collection of songs that balance sharp wit, tender storytelling, and a soulful sense of humor. Produced by Howie Epstein (of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), the album weaves together Prine’s trademark observational lyricism with rich arrangements that blend folk, country, and rock.
Highlights include the haunting narrative of “Lake Marie” (considered one of Prine’s greatest songs), the playful satire of “Quit Hollerin’ At Me,” and heartfelt ballads like “Day Is Done” and “I Love You So Much It Hurts.” Widely praised as a late-career gem, the record captures Prine’s ability to find beauty, comedy, and truth in everyday life.
Now available on 2LP vinyl, this edition brings one of John Prine’s most beloved works back to the format where his storytelling shines brightest.
