M1114 Up-Armored HMMWV with extended camera mast – 28mm Modern
When the battlefield changed, the Humvee had to change with it.
The M1114 Up-Armored HMMWV represents the next step in the evolution of the iconic vehicle. As roadside threats and ambushes became more common, the lightly protected Humvees of the 80s and 90s gave way to this heavier, hardened version — with armored doors, ballistic glass, and reinforced protection for the crew.
The result is the Humvee most people recognize from the early years of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Still fast. Still versatile.
Just a lot tougher.
What It Brings to Your Games
The M1114 sits right in the middle ground between the early Humvee and the later MRAP vehicles. It’s mobile, capable, and durable enough to survive the kind of firefights that would have shredded earlier variants.
Use it for:
🏜️ Early GWOT patrols – Perfect for Iraq and Afghanistan scenarios in the mid-2000s.
🚧 Urban convoy security – Escort supply trucks through hostile city blocks.
🪖 Infantry support – Provide mobile firepower for squads clearing buildings.
💥 Ambush scenarios – Insurgents waiting in alleyways or along dusty highways.
🎯 Checkpoint and roadblock missions – Control intersections and key terrain.
The armored profile adds confidence for players pushing forward — but it’s still very much a Humvee. A well-placed RPG or heavy weapon can still ruin your day, which keeps every movement decision interesting.
