MELBA [CD] (ONLINE ORDER ONLY)

First time ever on CD in the USA for Melba Moore's 1976 album Melba, remastered from the original master tapes. Melba (or Melba 76 as it s referred to avoid confusion with Melba's 1978 release on Epic which shares the same title) marked Moore's second collaboration with producer Van McCoy, who on this outing shared production duties with song-writing partner Charles Kipps. This Is It, (released earlier in 1976) had been somewhat of a commercial breakthrough for the Tony award and Grammy nominated actress/singer: the title track reached the Billboard Hot 100, the top twenty position on the R&B chart and was a top ten success in England, while the ballad Lean On Me earned Moore a third Grammy nomination. Although not as commercially successful as it's predecessor, Melba is an equally cohesive slice of polished, sophisticated dance/soul material. Limited edition of 2,000.
