OVERVIEW
DELUXE VINYL EDITION!!!
Released April 20, 2004 by NPG Records, Prince’s 28th studio album, Musicology, proved to be his most successful in many years, reaching the
Top 5 in the US, UK, Germany, and other major music territories. Prince’s first record in five years to be released through a major label (Sony
Music, who distributed the album), it was partially recorded in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, the performer’s first release to be recorded outside
Minneapolis. In the wake of the album’s release, Prince and his ever growing NPG entourage played what was billed, ‘The Musicology Release
Party’ at Webster Hall in New York on the very day the record hit the shops, to an invite-only audience. Featuring a five song solo-acoustic set plus
full band performances of cuts from the new album, the entire affair was recorded for live TV broadcast on MTV and VH1.
