Side Note: If you’re interested in an extra twist, a puzzle about the two-cube calendar was described in Martin Gardner's column in Scientific American. Two visible faces of one cube have digits 1 and 2 on them, and three visible faces of another cube have digits 3, 4, 5 on them. The cubes are arranged so that their front faces indicate the 25th day of the current month. Each day from 01-31 can be indicated by the two cubes so that their front faces give the required date. Each face can have a unique digit from 0 through 9. What are the four digits that cannot be seen on the left cube and the three that cannot be seen on the right cube? The tough part of this puzzle is choosing a combination that allows you to still form every date on a calendar.
