Nublu first opened it's doors as a music venue in 2002 and it is widely known for delivering cutting edge music. Nublu Records was birthed just two years ago from the same eclectic and unassuming East Village club that remains the epicenter of a unique fusion of diverse musical elements that can only be referred to as the "Nublu Sound. Its a mix of influences from around the globe, which includes the soul of New Orleans, the rhythms of Sao Paolo, the edge of Bristol, the dub of Kingston, and the beats of DJs from across the globe. This sound has attracted the admiration of artists like David Byrne and Moby, and been touted everywhere from the New York Times to Paper Magazine. "Nublu Sound" includes music from the widely known Nublu club that gave birth to bands like Brazilian Girls, Kudu, Wax Poetic and Forro in the Dark.
