Because the Christmas season ideally offers free time and opportunities for leisure, meditation, and self-reflection - all of which need not necessarily occur exclusively in the sphere of religious spirituality. We can also put our holidays to good use simply by doing nothing, not planning too much, and taking advantage of the opportunity for everything beyond the limits of our "to do" agendas. Time!
