ZEPPELIN BROADCAST FROM THEIR FIRST JAPANESE TOURFollowing the release of their third album in October 1970, Led Zeppelin took a break from live performances to concentrate on recording a follow-up. They turned down all touring offers, including a proposed New Year's Eve gig that would have been broadcast on television. They returned to Bron-Yr-Aur, a country house in Snowdonia, Wales, to write new material. While awaiting the new album’s release, now set for November, Led Zeppelin spent August and early September touring Europe and North America, following which, on 24th September, they began a short, five date, tour of Japan, their first shows in that territory. Playing two concerts in Tokyo. one in Hiroshima and another two in Osaka, their penultimate gig in the country was performed at Osaka’s Festival Hall on 28th of the month, a gig which was recorded for live broadcast. Now available on this new two-instalment set, this extraordinary recording, which includes impromptu, short snatches of Zeppelin playing the Beatles’ ‘Please, Please Me’, and ‘From Me To You’ mid-show, alongside three cuts from the upcoming new record, plus a fine selection of back catalogue numbers, is released here on vinyl for the first time.SIDE A:1.
