"Outrageous" presents a never-before-released live recording capturing a magical night in January 1976 when Shawn Phillips and keyboardist J. Peter Robinson performed at Austin's legendary Armadillo World Headquarters. Recently discovered after nearly five decades, the original multitrack tapes have been expertly restored to reveal the full power and intimacy of this remarkable duo performance. Across 15 tracks, including standouts like the driving "Manhole Covered Wagon" and the ethereal "L' Ballade," listeners can experience Phillips at his creative peak, his unmistakable voice and virtuosic 12-string guitar work perfectly complemented by Robinson's sophisticated keyboard arrangements. The album includes two extended improvisational pieces that showcase the exceptional musical chemistry between these two acclaimed artists. Think Like A Key Music has ensured this important historical document is preserved with audiophile-quality sound, offering fans old and new the chance to hear a significant chapter in Phillips' innovative musical journey that until now has existed only in the memories of those lucky enough to have been there.
