Long celebrated as one of American indie rock's most distinctive guitarists, Gillard's solo work centers on timeless songwriting values: hook-driven melodies, emotionally resonant lyrics, and finely crafted performances. Across eleven engaging tracks - including "Face Of Smiles," "Yes, She Loves Me," and "Lost Alarmists" - Parallel Stride delivers vivid wordplay and magnetic melodicism, often summed up by the shorthand "Wire backing Paul McCartney."
