Portland Head Light 500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

One of the most iconic lighthouses in the US, Portland Light Head lies just south of Portland, Maine, on the unforgiving rocky shores of Cape Elizabeth. Completed in 1791 to mark the primary shipping channel into Portland Harbor, you can imagine the graveyard of ships that would exist without the lighthouse marking the shore for the ships over the centuries. This image shows a beautiful sunrise from the shores of Cape Elizabeth, looking eastward toward Portland Head Light. The puzzle emerges from the lighthouse and sunrise as these elements are the easiest to sort out of the pieces and form the focus of the image. The sunrise light helps with the rocky shore piece placement as the subtle colors of the sky reflect off of the shore. The challenge with this puzzle lies in the water which has some hints for piece placement and building off of the lighthouse and sunrise. The finished puzzle is peaceful to look at and transports the viewer to a warm summer day on the Maine coast.
