by Thierry Lamy (Author), Nicolas Finet (Author)

Here is the can't-miss overview of the punk rock scene from its early inception in the seventies in New York and the UK. Includes chapters on The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and more. Punk was also the flex point for women in rock that paved the way for the Riot Grrrl movement like Siouxsie and the Banshees, Blondie, The Runaways, Patti Smith and The Slits. Flashing the finger against the slick corporate rock of the '70s, punk was faster, messier, and louder than anything before it. Covered here with the same raw energy, look, and attitude as the music itself!

Author Biography

Born in 1962 in Chateaubriant, France, Lamy is a scriptwriter for many graphic novels and biographies in comics, including co-authoring NBM's David Bowie in Comics and Pink Floyd in Comics. Nicolas Finet, author, publisher, filmmaker, journalist, curator, speaker, translator, has worked in comics for more than three decades. He is the author of more than half a dozen reference works on it. In music, he has just made a documentary on the blues and comics, " Mississippi Ramblin," devoted to bluesman Robert Johnson. He is the writer, also with Christopher, of " Forever Woodstock."
