Hot diggety! Your favorite fun-loving Disney dog is the star of our nostalgic “Pluto” puzzle!
A Mouse’s best friend, Mickey’s faithful pup Pluto starred in 48 of his own cartoons, as well as appearing with Mickey, Donald Duck and Goofy in classic Disney animated shorts. Unlike most Disney cartoon characters, beyond showing a broad range of facial expressions, Pluto is not humanlike; he is actually represented as a normal dog. But Pluto is an Oscar winner; Lend a Paw (1941) won for Best Animated Short Film at the 14th Academy Awards! A fun and entertaining puzzle for any Disney fan!
The dog who eventually evolved into Pluto made his big screen debut as a pair of bloodhounds in the 1930 Mickey Mouse cartoon, The Chain Gang. Walt Disney recalled, “Back in the early ’30s, we were doing a story where Mickey Mouse escaped from a chain gang. We needed a bloodhound. Pluto got the part and turned out so well, we used him twice.” Later that year, Pluto appeared as Minnie Mouse’s dog, Rover, in The Picnic, and in 1931 he officially became Mickey’s pet dog, Pluto, in The Moose Hunt. All Sales are Final.
