PJ has guided his own independent boutique record label, Morton Records, to consistent success with 7 consecutive years of Grammy nominations (20 nominations and 5 wins). In an unprecedented feat, 4 of the 5 R&B albums released on Morton Records have garnered Best R&B Album nominations at the Grammys. In addition, he has received multiple BET, Soul Train, NAACP Image Award, and Dove and Stellar Awards nominations and wins. He has also been honored with The Bennie Award, a very prestigious award from Morehouse College's Candle in the Dark. Past honorees include Charles Phillips, Denzel Washington, Spike Lee, Oprah Winfrey, Henry "Hank" Aaron, Samuel L. Jackson, Muhammad Ali, and Andrew Young.
