Sevendeaths - Sevendeaths - Remote Sympathy [CD]
Barcode: 5060384611419LuckyMe are proud to present Remote Sympathy - the first ever vinyl release and new album from the enigmatic Scottish artist and composer Sevendeaths.Sevendeaths is the artist alias of Steven Shade. The revered Edinburgh-based musician, producer and composers cinematic, synth-epic drone music recalls the distorted sounds of artists like Fennesz, Emeralds, and Tim Hecker, but with a surreally exacting touch (Pitchfork) while pushing technological boundaries by developing much of his own bespoke software, created from the ground up. His greatest body of work yet and first ever committed to vinyl, Remote Sympathy is a monolithic, digital yet human album inspired by personal loss, disease and above all, hope - the collision of these emotions creating a cathartic solution of deep, electronic atmospherics and expansive compositions. The enormity, density and sheer meanness of this eye-popping wall of sound hit like a slowmotion slug to the gut. - Pitchfork Best New Music The bending tones recall My Bloody Valentine, while echoes of Emeralds and Tim Hecker resonate through the undulating synthesizers and organ-grinder fuzz. - SPIN Tracks Of The Week Steven Shade first hit the underground scene as a member of the HudMo-approved group American Men& now charting a solitary path thats abstract and moody, building to beat-less crescendos that never quite reach a point of actual release. - Self Titled The wailing feedback of each guitar comes through with an unnatural clarity, probably due to the fact that the album's "guitars"and every single other sound, for that matterwere largely built by Shade from the ground up using an array of computer software and hardware. - Pitchfork Rising Feature
