After two years of heavy touring behind the Polaris Prize nominated Transistor Sister (YC-009, 2011) and as a member of the John K Samson (of The Weakerthans) Provincial Band, Shotgun Jimmie landed in a cold snow-bound cabin on the banks of Lake Clementi, Manitoba with a suitcase full of songs and a trusty old four-track. Trying to get it all down, all these new impressions, way out in the woods alone, performing all the music himself, recording himself, everything, between chopping wood and shoveling snow.
