For years you've stumbled through hostile lands, living off stale rations, and struggling for sleep. Now, imagine hanging up your weapons, selling off your armor, and settling down. If only it were that easy...
Stewpot: Tales from a Fantasy Tavern by Takuma Okada is a charming collection of cozy mini-games that tell the story of a tavern run by former adventurers, just like yourselves. Gather your trusty dice, grab a deck of cards, set aside a shiny coin, and prepare for a whole new set of challenges. Only this time, your adventures start behind the bar!
This delightful game is divided into 20 different slice-of-life mini-games, each with its own set of simple rules and prompts. You might find yourselves scrambling to cook something edible with random ingredients, bartending for troubled souls, calming a tavern brawl, or heading out on a shopping trip for essential tavern supplies. Work together to upgrade your tavern’s Cuisine, Atmosphere, and Service. In the process, you might just learn a little bit about yourself and your fellow party members as you transition from epic heroes to wise proprietors pulling draughts at the bar!
With its lightweight rules and prompt-driven play, Stewpot is super easy to pick up. There's no game master needed and absolutely no preparation required – just open the book and start playing together! It's ideal for a casual one-shot session or a longer series where you slowly build your tavern's reputation. You can even import your beloved characters from a different system to play out their epilogue and see what happens when their adventuring career truly ends. The evocative scenarios and prompts will inspire you to explore your tavern, your town, and the way your characters change in this heartwarming new life. Plus, it even includes four original recipes you can actually cook!
