On April 6, 1971, Igor Stravinsky died in New York at the age of 89. An iconic figure who played a prominent role in the history of 20th century music, Stravinsky's grandiose funeral took place, according to his wishes, in Venice. STRAVINSKY A TO Z (original title, "Abécédaire Stravinsky") was published in French at the end of 2018. It was hailed by critics as a "thrilling work that explores a vast and sometimes surprising universe", "illustrated by admirable photographic documents" which "serves both as guide, for a first approach to the universe of Stravinsky as well as an anthology of the legacy left by one of the greatest musical innovators of the 20th century".
