The classic wooden Walking Triceratops, originally released in 1993, has undergone a makeover. The formerly used metal gearbox and parts are changed to the assembled plastic gearbox (featuring built-in motor with cables) and plastic parts for safe and ease of assembly. Transparent plastics offer visibility of mechanisms.Required to Complete:
- One separately sold AA battery
Features:
- The assembled plastic gearbox has only two cables, which eliminates the difficult assembly of the power unit.
- Gear ratio: 280:1.
- Speed: about 1.67 cm/s. (The model moves 1m in about 60 seconds.)
- The body is redesigned based upon in-depth research at the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum.
- The body made of wood allows easy modifications and decoration with paint and pens.
- Materials: transparent plastic and wood (poplar-type).
- The model slowly moves forward swinging its head and tail from side to side, which gives it a more realistic look.
- The link mechanism moves forelegs and head, weight transfer moves the tail, and link and crank mechanism rotation moves hind legs.
