Port Noir is a dynamic and boundary-pushing Swedish progressive metal band that exploded onto the scene in 2013. Hailing from Stockholm, the trio crafts a sound that is as intense as it is captivating—blending heaviness, precision, atmosphere, and a great groove in equal measure. Known for their electrifying and intense live shows, they’ve gained a reputation as one of the most interesting acts in modern rock & metal. With their debut album Puls in 2014, Port Noir immediately set themselves apart, offering a bold and unique sound that was both heavy and intricate. Their follow-up albums, Any Way the Wind Carries (2017), The New Routine (2020), and Cuts (2022) pushed their creative limits even further. Their music is marked by creative compositions, minimalistic and powerful arrangements with an undeniable groove that drives each track forward with intensity and energy. Port Noir’s ambition is undeniable—they aren’t simply following trends, they’re aiming to shape the future of heavy music. Their upcoming album The Dark We Keep promises to be heavier than their previous releases. The band has teased a more aggressive and intense sound, with their signature blend of alternative metal and progressive influences pushed to new extremes. With their growing ambition and willingness to experiment, this next chapter in their musical journey is sure to leave a lasting impact on their ever-expanding fanbase.
