D&D Studios and Fat Beats Distribution Reunite to Deliver Up In D&D – A Vinyl Tribute to Hip-Hop Classic. The iconic D&D Studios and Fat Beats Distribution proudly announce the release of "Up In D&D Volume 1", a powerful vinyl compilation celebrating the golden era of boom bap hip-hop.
This project marks a historic reunion between two cultural institutions that helped shape the sound of 90s East Coast rap.
Up In D&D delivers a curated collection of legendary tracks and previously unreleased gems from the vaults of D&D Studios, home to some of the most influential records in hip-hop history. Known as the creative sanctuary for artists like DJ Premier, Jay-Z, Nas, KRS-One, and many more, D&D Studios was the beating heart of authentic New York hip-hop.
Co-founded by Doug Grama and David Lotwin, D&D Studios continues to honor its legacy while embracing the future.
This latest release with Fat Beats brings back the gritty, analog sound of the era—with both classic tracks and newly discovered recordings pressed to wax for the first time.
This release marks the first in an ongoing series, with many more vinyl drops from the legendary D&D catalog.
