Preparations for the expedition are now ready. You will search for valuable artifacts while facing all kinds of dangers. However, other rival adventurers follow us to snatch our glory. Grab your hat and go on an adventure!
In Venturesome you'll recruit a motley crew of adventurers in hopes of finding a series of ancient treasures. You will have to use the skills of the members of your expedition and be very careful with the omnipresent threats. You will also have to try to thwart the plans of your rivals, who are willing to steal, manipulate or use any dirty tricks at their disposal to seize your artifacts and achieve victory.
Designed by Michael Rieneck and illustrated by Paulina Opak, Venturesome is a card game that can be enjoyed as a couple or in groups of up to 5 players, for ages 10 and up, in games lasting about 30 minutes. The objective of the game is to collect the greatest number of victory points over three rounds. Do you accept the challenge?
Each player starts with 6 character cards (the members of the expedition). Each of them has a unique power that affects the game in different ways, from trading cards with other players to returning cards to the hand or intimidating certain characters.
On each turn you have to play 1 character card from your hand to the table and resolve its effect. This means that your expedition will grow with each subsequent turn. The members of the expedition must be different, so at some point in the game, it will be impossible to play another card. When this occurs, you will end your participation in the current round, resolve one of the available threat cards and set aside the collected expedition members, which will be your personal treasure pile. These cards will give you points at the end of the game. Threat cards, however, will affect the members of your expedition and the treasures and artifacts obtained.
As in the best adventures, it is very difficult to predict the outcome of each round of expedition. The time has come to decide: Do you want to save your skin and search for treasures, or ruin your rivals' plans? You can always try to do both… If you're willing to take the risk!
